Roadmovie – Cinema along back roads

21.09.2006

Starting on September 25, 2006, the mobile cinema «Roadmovie» will be touring rural regions in Switzerland for the fourth time, bringing movies to places where they normally cannot be seen. On its six-week trip, the movie bus stops in 30 townships for one day and shows an exclusive selection of Swiss films. This year, «Roadmovie» presents historical weekly news originating in the particular region preceding the evening screening.
In collaboration with community and school boards, «Roadmovie» also features a special screening for children and youth in the afternoons, before the general public can relish the major movie night, including the historical news program, which is receiving support from Memoriav. A variety of spaces, including school auditoriums, rectories, multipurpose halls, bistros, etc., will be transformed into movie theatres. Along with others, the movies presented in this year’s tour will be the feature films «Fragile» (2005) by Laurent Nègre, and «Jeune Homme» (2005) by Christoph Schaub, the documentary film «Jo Siffert. Live Fast – Die Young» (2005) by Men Lareida, as well as short and animated films such as «Le génie de la boîte de raviolis» (2006) by Claude Barras, «Tarte aux pommes» (2006) by Isabelle Favez, and «Herr Goldstein» (2005) by Micha Lewinsky.

«Roadmovie» is primarily sponsored by SWISS FILMS, and it also receives support from the Cinémathèque Suisse, the Children’s Film Club «Zauberlaterne», the Migros Kulturprozent, and the Lotterie Romande, as well as from numerous cantons and foundations.
