Jury Prize for Schwizgebel’s «Jeu/Play» in Rome

At the 11th International Animation Film Festival «I Castelli Animati», which took place in Genzano near Rome from November 29 to December 3, 2006, the film «Jeu/Play» by Georges Schwizgebel (Production: Studio GDS, Geneva) was awarded the Special Prize by the Jury. With this award, the film took home its fifth prize this year, including at festivals in Hiroshima, Ottawa, Leipzig, and Utrecht.
In its award justification, the jury praised the 4-minute film’s «combination of abstract form, its pleasant, round format, and its playfulness». «Jeu/Play» is currently screened at movie theatres in advance of «Das Fraulein» by Andrea Staka, another internationally successful Swiss feature film.
