Grand Prize for “Home” in Athens

Ursula Meier’s fiction film “Home” (Box Productions, Lausanne) was awarded the Grand Prize of the City of Athens at the 10th Festival of Francophone Films, which took place in Athens from April 2-12, 2009. In addition, the Swiss short film “Ombre” by Alberto Meroni won the Silver Frame Trophy for “Best International Short Film” at the 4th Festival Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica Digitale in Impera (Italy), which runs until April 18.
“Home” was honoured with three QUARTZ awards of the Swiss Film Prize 2009 in Lucerne on March 7. With box-office sales of over 82,000 in Swiss cinemas, the film has also been well received by audiences. The Festival of Francophone Films in Greece, organised by Institut Français in Athens, has been extended until April 15, with screenings in Thessaloniki as well. More than 60 films were screened at the festival.
