Festival Arcipelago in Rome with Swiss participation

The 16th Festival Internazionale di Cortometraggio Arcipelago, which runs from June 13-19, 2008 in Rome, will present twelve Swiss short films. In the international competition “Short Planet” the short fiction film “Auf der Strecke” by Reto Caffi as well as the animation films “Le printemps de Sant Ponç” by David Epiney & Eugenia Mumenthaler and “Dans la peau” by Zoltan Horvath will compete for the Best Short Film Award.
The Festival Arcipelago in Rome, devoted to short films and new media will also screen three Swiss productions in the online competition “Corto Web.08”, where the audience will have the opportunity to vote directly via internet. It concerns the films “AlpTraum” by This Lüscher, “Fathom” by Vladimir Jedlicka and the animation film “Punkt & Striche…” by Jésus Pérez.
The special program “Diritti e libertà, tutti corti” presenting films on human rights, encompasses six additional titles. For already 16 years now the Festival Arcipelago has presented a well selected panorama of international short filmmaking in the Italian capital.
