The Teddy Award is bestowed by a nine-member jury of gay and lesbian filmmakers in the categories of Best Short Film, Best Documentary/Essay Film, and Best Fiction Film. Eligible are productions with gay/lesbian and transgender context featured in various programs at the Berlinale. “Feline Masquerade” was shown in the Panorama program. The jury stated in their justification that “the film portrays the lesbian side of Swiss history in sensitive and humorous ways. Rare archival materials and personal stories by women full of love for life are interwoven in the most entertaining fashion.”
