25.09.2006

At the 20th edition of the Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie, which ended on September 21st, the feature film «Fragile» (Production: Bord Cadre Films, Geneva) received the La Vague TV5 prize for Best International Feature Film. The director of the film, Laurent Nègre, was in attendance at the festival and also presented his short film «Schenglet» to the audience preceding the main screening.
In «Fragile», the suicide of their mother suffering from Alzheimer’s disease – Marthe Keller received the 2006 Swiss Film Prize for her role in the movie – reunites two siblings, whose characters and view of life are vastly different. Filmed in Geneva, the film already won the TV5 prize at the Festival Cinéma Tout Ecran, before winning the audience award at the Festival du film d’amour in Mons (Belgium). At the Festival du cinéma francophone en Acadie, which is located in the south of Canada bordering the United States, seven additional French-speaking films were participating.
