Newly elected to the SWISS FILMS Board of Trustees

Communications and media specialist Cathy Flaviano has joined the SWISS FILMS Board of Trustees. She brings wide-ranging expertise in media, streaming and radio.
Cathy Flaviano has held numerous roles at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF), including presenter, editor, producer, editorial head and deputy head. As Chief of Staff of SRF’s Culture Department, she oversaw several tri-media projects. From 2019 to 2024 she headed the Culture & Society Division and sat on the Executive Board of RSI. Since April 2024 she has led der SRG SSR’s streaming platform Play Suisse.
Born in 1967 in Basel, Cathy Flaviano holds a psychology degree from the University of Basel and a Master in communication from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Media and broadcast specialist Bakel Walden is leaving the Board of Trustees in July 2025. SWISS FILMS warmly thanks him for his commitment and expertise in Swiss cinema.
