A cinematic journey through a century of socialism, the film paints a captivating portrait of Cuba's most famous mother: Nadja Bunke, 90 years old, and the mother of Tania “La Guerillera”, who fought for freedom with Che Guevara in Latin America. 90 year old Bunke looks back on a life that has experienced tsarist and revolutionary Russia, the Weimar Republic, National Socialism, life in exile, the GDR and a reunified Germany. A dedicated socialist for all of her life, Bunke's socialistic heart belongs to Cuba because that is where her daughter found her last home side by side with Che Guevara.
