Chilean film director Carlos Klein accompanies the Russian filmmaker Viktor Kossakowsky while shooting his most recent work. Kossakowsky traces the nature of antipodes and the inhabitants of these diametrically opposite locations on Earth in Patagonia, on Lake Baikal and in Shanghai. Carlos Klein documents the creation of this elaborately produced film, driven by his own inner quest for images. In the process, he unveils both his own and Kossakowsky’s ambivalence towards filmmaking – a reflection on cinematography.
