The mouse Nero lives in Lisas room, the chickens Trick and Frida live in the barn next to the house. Their everyday life is determined by humans, just like that of many other animals like the dog Taya, the cow 2831, the cat Lucy, the tigers in the zoo, the pig Rosalie and the calf Maresciallo. Nero and Trick grow old and die. Trick is taken to the carcass collection centre and Nero gets a small grave in the garden.
