Tibet – zwischen Museum und Modern
Switzerland / China, 3rd quarter 2004
FILM,
Documentary,
74 min.
Remote monasteries, wise lamas, mystic knowledge: our awareness of Tibet is shaped by stereotypical images. We know very little about daily life in Tibet. The film attempts to offer a glimpse into the Tibetan effort to preserve cultural identity in times of modernisation. What worries does an elderly monk have about the future of Tibet? What are the hopes in the lives of the young Tibetans? Zhibin Fu’s film takes us on an exciting journey through this fascinating country, known as the “Roof of the World”.
