An armed robbery at a gun shop in the Swiss capital Berne ends in death, despite Police Superintendent von Burg's presence on the scene. In his subsequent hunt for the murderer, von Burg finds himself up against a branch of the Russian Mafia. Even the Russian interpreter, Helena Krasnowa, is part of the gang. Von Burg only discovers this when it is too late and he has already fallen for the beautiful Russian…
