Jean-Théo Aeby sets out with his 12-year-old granddaughter Lula to the Basse-Ville district in Freiburg. Around 40 inhabitants express themselves in front of the camera and six of them maintain that they are the last “real” Bolzes who have spent their whole life in this district. They explain to us the language, Bolze, a combination of French and the Sensler dialect (related to Swiss German), which is why there are French subtitles in certain places! We learn about the local means of expression, the various mentalities and about a neighbourhood that has two different language groups. And we meet a few gnarled characters as well.
