Stella’s sudden return from American boarding school and her fervent desire to recover in the country house of her childhood is a welcome opportunity for her mother Maria and stepfather Carl to reconcile with their estranged daughter. But the unexpected appearance of the daughter’s much older new boyfriend Ben significantly disrupts the family intimacy. The remote idyll becomes a nightmare.

Il ritorno improvviso della giovane Stella dalla scuola privata americana e il suo ardente desiderio di recuperare nella casa di campagna della sua infanzia è un'opportunità benvenuta per sua madre Maria e il patrigno Carl di riconciliarsi con la loro figlia lontana. Ma l'apparizione inaspettata del nuovo fidanzato di Stella, Ben, molto più anziano, interrompe significativamente l'intimità familiare.
