Riniker’s film introduces the work of international art dealers and innovators Urs and Christel Raussmüller, who in 1984 were the first exhibitors worldwide to show artists’ work in factory hangars, thus creating a museum concept that has been numerously copied since. Riniker films them in their latest exhibition space, the Hallen für Neue Kunst in Schaffhausen, where works by Joseph Beauys, Mario Merz, Jannis Kounellis and Robert Ryman are on show. The film is a fascinating encounter with two passionate people. Urs sees himself as an artist, and voices his opinions passionately, whilst Christel complements him quiet tones. Whether in their gigantic Basel living and working space or in an art hanger in Milan, pictures and conversations about life and art dominate.
