After their best friend gets married, Ferdinand is Quentin’s only really good friend left. When Quentin meets the beautiful Swiss woman, Sara, who is Jewish, he tries to talk Ferdinand into seducing Sara's sister, Rachel, so that they might become brothers-in-law and therefore still remain close to each other. Things become more complicated, however, when Ferdinand actually does fall in love with Rachel and suggests that the two friends convert to Judaism.
