Somewhere in the canton of Vaud, musicians are rehearsing “Les Noces”, composed by Igor Stravinsky between 1916 and 1922 with the help of Ramuz. During the rehearsals, the musicians read excerpts taken from recollections about Igor Stravinsky, breathing new life into the piece. Initially, they work on single elements. These are subsequently pieced together as more and more musicians gradually join in. At the end of the film singers, pianists, percussionists and a complete chorus perform “Les Noces” in its entirety, from start to finish.
