On the occasion of the football World Cup in Bern in 1954, Algerian nationalists meet and decide to trigger the armed insurrection. At Signal de Bougy in 1962, the Algerian delegation is living on the shores of Lake Geneva, protected by the Swiss army, during the negotiations for the Evian Accords. This little-known period in modern history, 1954-1962, is a significant page in Swiss international policy: one of neutrality and solidarity. The film follows Switzerland’s engagement in the Algerian War, in the more general context of colonisation against the backdrop of the Cold War.
