At the age of seventy-five, Gabriel Pitteloud is one of the few chimney masons who create handcrafted fireplaces. In the heart of the Alps, his creations in cut stones become paintings that adorn fireplaces. For the man who, for forty years, has been making the stones sing, the profession has distilled into a philosophy of life. Filming her father, the filmmaker paints a deep and intimate portrait of a craftsman who uses stones as his art.
