Alisa is a sans-papiers refugee, living on the street of Geneva. One night, in the red light district near the railway station, she is picked up by Magda, who offers her a place to stay in exchange for housework. But this act of kindness is not necessarily motivated by philanthropy. Magda has a secret plan, and makes Alisa a part of her lonely existence, drawing the young woman into a web of illusions. Alisa rejects this life, but has nowhere else to go. The confrontation between the two women comes to a shocking climax.
