A little film in which the director provides a review of the work of Alain Tanner: his ersatz father, his father of the cinema. The rhythm is provided by a voice repeating the same type of phrase: “I think of Alain Tanner when someone plays music in a tram; I think of Alain Tanner when a tracking shot bursts into the middle of a dialogue; I think of Alain Tanner when a café waitress gives me a smile; I think of Alain Tanner when the Swiss navy is mentioned; I think of Alain Tanner when walking along the Rhone… ”
