The extraordinary true story of the «Swabian Walkers», children who, from Graubünden in Switzerland, walked each year to Swabia in Germany in order to work as servants. Over the course of more than 150 years, thousands of children aged between six and15 years of age walked to Swabia, usually accompanied on the seven day journey by an older woman, an agent. They headed for so-called children and slave markets where they were sold off to local farmers in several cities of Swabia, mainly Ravensburg and Wangen.
