After nineteen years in a convent, Virginie, a thirty-eight-year-old French nun, is expelled for breaking the rules and sent to her brother Luc’s rural hotel in Italy. Amid summer tourists, family tension and a looming agricultural crisis, she awaits transfer to a new convent. Drawn to a writer, a hotel worker and her teenage nephew, Virginie awakens to desire, confronts her past, and realizes faith and identity can coexist.
