Film director Alice Schmid accompanied Tenzin Kesang, a ten-year-old Tibetan girl, exploring her everyday life which encompasses two cultures. Tenzin Kesang criticizes her Swiss friend Jennifer for setting mousetraps in the cellar of her house. Their discussions about sympathy serve as the leitmotif of the film, illustrating both the differences and similarities in the way the two girls think: Tenzin Kesang, who was born under the Tibetan sign of the mouse, and her friend Jennifer, who was brought up as a Christian.
