Steff's humdrum life is turned upside down when he is named as the sole beneficiary in the will of his former lover, Martin Hilder, known as Hilde. He comes into a lot of money and his dream of running his own business unexpectedly becomes much more real. He ignores Martin's conditional wish for Steff to scatter his ashes in the Atlantic. Steff wants the money. He therefore has no qualms about setting up a deal with
Martin's mother: for a one-off payment the urn can stay in the family vault. Things look good as far as Steff's plans are concerned. But there's also someone called Rex still around - a young, aggressive and unpredictable character. He is wildly determined to carry out Hilde's last wish...

Steff Bertsch sogna di mettersi in proprio. Quando il suo ex amante Martin Hilder, detto Hilde, muore di Aids nominandolo erede universale, il sogno di Steff è improvvisamente a portata di mano. Steff ignora la sola condizione posta da Martin, quella che l’amico disperda le sue ceneri nell’Atlantico. Quello che gli interessa sono i soldi. Per i soldi, giunge addirittura ad un accordo con la madre di Martin, lasciando l’urna nella tomba di famiglia in cambio di una liquidazione una tantum. Sembra che i suoi progetti siano destinati a concretizzarsi. Ma c’è anche Rex, giovane, aggressivo e imprevedibile, fermamente deciso a realizzare le ultime volontà di Hilde…
