Hans Krüsi, the Street Virtuoso. At the “friendly florist”, Krüsi spent 35 years travelling from St. Gallen to Zurich to sell his bunches of flowers and bouquets. With no previous experience, and with no particular ambitions, he only started painting when in his fifties. the response from the art scene was enthusiastic and Krüsi became a fêted star. “A nobody can also become something”, he proudly wrote in his diary, yet success also revealed his dark side. Unique film footage tells a moving love story, sometimes amusing and funny, sometimes melancholic and solemn. It is an understanding insight into an eternally lonely and sensitive, yet wonderfully inspired man, who today, almost ten years after his death, remains one of Switzerland's most exciting artists.
