Dieter Roth lived the life of 20 men and left behind a body of work of titanic proportions. His art and personality were one and the film portrays this symbiotic relationship. The film is conceived as an inner and outer journey and focuses on the themes of art, life, autonomy and artistic collaboration. Dieter Roth appears in home made films, as a performer or protagonist of his everyday life. These archive materials and his work are at the centre of the film, and with the help of colleagues, friends and partners they provide an insight into his world. They tell of
creative, wild, tender and sad moments with Dieter Roth. The film's main character is Roth's son Björn, who worked with his father for the last 20 years of his life.
