“Die Wägsten und Besten des Landes”: being Swiss and having the opportunity to look into the world of “Schwingen”, which is the native Swiss form of wrestling, also means gaining a bit of insight into a facet of one's own heritage. The film takes a close look at the joys and sufferings, as well as the greatest dreams, of the two wrestlers contending for the 2001championship title of Swiss “Schwingen”. As the all-decisive final match draws closer, we learn more and more about their strengths and weaknesses. Are they up to the biggest challenge of their lives?
