In Switzerland tens of thousands of firms are founded or liquidated every year, while another 5'000 go bankrupt. For a period of two years the filmmaker kept a close watch on the efforts of three start-up firms. Dodé Kunz, a former left-wing activist (OFRA, POCH), launched a clothing firm. Claude Cellier, an electronics expert, began to compete on the world market with a new digital sound studio. Engineer Gabriel Strebel set out to find a market for a machine of his own making. The film follows these three entrepreneurs in their efforts to convince investors, penetrate the market, and see off competitors. Dodé Kunz learns a few bitter lessons about the market economy, Claude Cellier is saved from bankruptcy by a contract with the USA, and Gabriel Strebel is less lucky.
