During the civil war in Lebanon, a number of citizens fled to Europe, abandoning their sumptuous apartments, magnificent homes… and the servants required to run them. In an attempt to tell the latter’s tale this film focuses on a 9-storey block of flats in the capital, Beirut, and a large villa overlooking the city. It also tells of an impossible love affair between a young Muslim militiaman and a Christian girl employed by the city. Cruel and funny, bad and kind, this is the story of the lives of “the others”.
