The four-part TV series “Back Around The Clock” spans music history from 1955 to 2005. Beat Hirt was the first rock journalist in Switzerland, founding the legendary “Pop” together with Jürg Marquard in 1966. His television series is a delightful approach to taking a closer look at the history of pop in Switzerland. In the summer of 2005, Beat Hirt interviewed a total of 52 people from the scene for the four TV programs: people who had witnessed it all – both visually and “audibly”. Among those interviewed were 40 musicians, ranging from Polo Hofer to Betty Legler, Big Zis, Düde Dürst, Chris von Rohr and Endo Anaconda. Fascinating, but partially “forgotten” archive material at SF, TSR and TSI serves as the basis for a four-hour presentation of – and reunion with – the 50 most forte years in Swiss music history.
