Following “Die Badenden” (2003) and “Die Liebenden” (2004), the . lm “Abendmahl” is the third of a trilogy which deals with the blotting out of memories. “Abendmahl” begins as a still life with grapes and apples, a home movie from the sixties in which a woman is eating with obvious enjoyment, a coffee klatsch, a walk in the forest. Due to chemical processing, the old . fim shots appear increasingly as paintings, with the inner being turned outwards. Just like with a hand-cranked projector, the images are jolted forward, but then begin to falter and . finally lead to a “Last Supper” in a church.
