Distribution Support
Be it in cinemas or on streaming platforms: the Federal Office of Culture collaborates with SWISS FILMS to promote the global distribution of films made in Switzerland.
With immediate effect, it is possible to submit applications for releases as of January 2026. The following requirements apply:
SWISS FILMS is responsible for handling this form of export promotion. Applications must be submitted to SWISS FILMS by the international distributor via the Swiss production company. The completed application form plus all the required enclosures must be submitted to SWISS FILMS (support@swissfilms.ch) no later than two months before the film's theatrical or VOD release in the target country. The application is reviewed by the committee “distribution and diversity of offer”. The decision normally is notified within four weeks following submission deadline.
