Geboren 1979 in Bern, Schweiz. 2002-05 Musik und Medienkunst, HKB (Hochschule der Künste Bern). 2005 Diplom HKB. Simon Baumann ist freischaffender Filmemacher und hat zusammen mit Andreas Pfiffner mehrere Filme realisiert. Darunter die erste webbasierte Doku-Serie der Schweiz, HOPE MUSIC (2007), oder den satirischen Kurzfilm EMOZIONIERE (2009), der mehrere Festivalpreise gewann.
Der Kinodokumentarfilm IMAGE PROBLEM, eine satirische Auseinandersetzung mit der Schweiz,
feierte 2012 im internationalen Wettbewerb des Filmfestivals Locarno Premiere. Sein
Dokumentarfilm ZUM BEISPIEL SUBERG feierte im internationalen
Wettbewerb von Visions du Réel 2013 in Nyon Premiere und wurde mit mehreren Festivalpreisen
und dem Regiepreis des Kantons Bern ausgezeichnet. Zusammen mit Andreas Pfiffner ist Simon Inhaber der ton und bild GmbH in Biel.
