Born in 1966 in Martigny, Switzerland. Joint Swiss and Italian citizenship. He began filmmaking in 1981. From 1984-89 he collaborated with regional television Canal 9. 1991 Award from the Académie Carat in Paris. He works as a screenwriter, theatre director and filmmaker. In 2001 he was awarded the Swiss Film Prize, Best Fiction Film for AZZURRO (2000). He is also known for MARCELLO MARCELLO (2008) and MY BELOVED ENEMY (2018).
