Hélène a septante ans.
C'est une actrice connue, une femme toujours très séduisante. Depuis le suicide de son amant Victor il y a trente ans, Hélène est inconsolable. Chaque nuit d'insomnie elle s'adresse à lui dans son journal. Mais Hélène est régulièrement dérangée par les coups de téléphone anonymes d'un homme qui insiste pour la rencontrer. Un jour, intrigée par ce mystérieux correspondant Hélène se rend à l'Hôtel Terminus, lieu du rendez-vous.
