Feu Beulah Roth Spiegelglas (1907-1990) était l'épouse du photographe Sanford Roth. Les Roth voyageaient fréquemment entre l'Europe et Hollywood. Sanford Roth a rencontré James Dean sur le tournage de GIANT en 1955, quelques mois avant la mort tragique du comédien. Vingt ans après la mort de son mari à Rome, Beulah a écrit ce beau texte qui sert de fil d'Ariane à ce long métrage.
