I nemici di Peter K. lo costringono ad affrontare il suo avversario più temibile e imprevedibile: se stesso. Dopo la morte di sua madre, Peter K. è minacciato di sfratto dalla casa dove l’ha accudita. Lotta per difendere il suo rifugio da sua sorella, dalla quale si è allontanato, dal comune e infine dalla polizia armata. Le sue teorie complottiste e i suoi scritti diventano realtà, rendendolo una celebrità ribelle. La sua crescente paura e la sua solitudine fanno risorgere incubi infantili, mentre la sua battaglia in tribunale rivela un oscuro passato familiare.
