Verena Paravel
Director, Editor, Cinematographer
Born in 1971 in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Studied Anthropology in Toulouse. She then moved to the United States where she became a teacher-researcher. At the same time, she made films and cofounded the Sensory Ethnographic Lab with Lucien Castaing-Taylor the Sensory Ethnographic Lab. She directed FOREIGN PARTS (2010) with J.P Sniadecki, selected in more than twenty festivals (Locarno, Bafici, Visions du Réel, NY Films Festival), then codirected with Lucien Castaing-Taylor LEVIATHAN (2013), SOMNILOQUIES (2015 - Berlinale) and CANIBA (2017), Special Mention of the Orizzonti jury in Venice.
