Trained at the London Film School in the late nineties, Mikaël Ivan Roost officially enters the film world while co-writing, producing and directing a first independent feature at 23. MORE THAN DREAMS is selected out of competition at the Locarno International Film Festival in 1998. The film is then broadcast on Swiss TV in 2000. Upon obtaining his Diploma from LIFS, Mikaël flies to Canada to learn the basics of classical and digital animation at the Vancouver Film School for nearly two years. His animated shorts are shown in festivals and for some, on television. From 2006 on, Mikaël goes back to directing live action films and in 2010 he is engaged as a film teacher and supervisor in a Geneva media College. In 2016 Mikaël creates his own production company, Parallaxe films, with which he starts producing various projects, including music videos, a short film, a web-series on the subject of the transition to adulthood and from 2019 on, two independent feature films.
