Im Frühjahr 1970 erlebt ein kleines Dorf im Wallis ungewöhnliche Turbulenzen. Liegt es an der eidgenössischen Abstimmung über das Frauenstimmrecht? Oder an der bevorstehenden Überfremdungsinitiative? Nein, es ist noch schlimmer: Die Blaskappelle ist am Auseinanderfallen! Die eine Hälfte des Dorfes gibt Aloys die Schuld, die andere dagegen Pierre. Was als musikalischer Konflikt beginnt, führt bald zur politischen Auseinandersetzung und weitet sich gar auf die Liebe aus.
