Born in 1984 in Aarau, Switzerland. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media & Communications, Philosophy and Sociology and a Master’s degree in Film Directing. As producer at Contrast Film he is responsible for several award-winning films, including the short film PARVANEH (2012) which was nominated for an Oscar and won the Student Academy Award, and the documentary UNKNOWN TERRITORY (2013) winner of the First Steps Award in Berlin and the Golden Eye at Zurich Film Festival. The anthology film WONDERLAND (2015) premiered in the International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival and won a Max Ophüls Prize. The feature MIDNIGHT RUNNER (2018) premiered in competition in San Sebastian and received a Special Mention at the Zurich Film Festival. He has participated in various development and training programmes, including Torino Film Lab, EKRAN+, Trans Atlantic Partners, Full Circle Lab and ACE. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars, the European Film Academy (EFA), and the Swiss Film Academy.
