Simon Grab
Composer, Rerecorder, Sound Designer, Sound Editor, Producer, Director, Location Sound Mixer
He produces music and sound as a composer and sound designer for film, theater, dance, and radio. In live performances and installations, Grab uses the space as an acoustic playground. Using noise, sound trash, feedback, and deep pulsating basses, he develops his own musical language. He has been releasing on LavaLava Bristol, -Ous Zurich and Soundspace London. He has been touring and playing with Yao Bobby, Mx Blouse, Dhangsha, Rafal Pierzynski, Aisi Zhou, Simon Berz, La Gale, David Meier, Tizia Zimmermann, Tapiwa Svosve, Francesco Giudici, Flo Goette, and lots more.
The co-founder of ganzerplatz soundstudios (since 1996) has been an active musician and producer in a wide range of musical contexts, though staying addicted to dub and noise, with an everlasting punk attitude. Simon Grab is a lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts ZHDK and holds a Master of the Arts in Transdisciplinary Studies.
