Amos Gitai

Director, Screenwriter, Producer

Born in 1950 in Haifa, Israel. Joint French and Israeli citizenship. He graduated with a PhD in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Since 1980 he has directed over eighty films. His powerful body of works, consisting of video productions, theatrical performances, exhibitions and books, is remarkable for its diversity: features, shorts, fictions, documentaries and experimental work. He lived in Paris from 1983 until 1995 when he returned to Israel.
