Christine Aufderhaar

A graduate in Classical Piano Performance from the Conservatory in Lugano and in Classical Composition and Film Scoring from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, she worked in Los Angeles within a mentorship programme with the composers of The Simpsons and Star Trek. Honoured with several awards internationally, her concert music has been performed in the USA as well as in Europe, recently at the Berlin Philharmonic. Based in Berlin, she wrote over the course of two decades the music for over fifty films. From 2004-07 she was Associate Professor at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Since 2007 she works exclusively as a composer. She is a former board member of the German Film Academy, long-time board member of the German Film Music Union, a member of the European Film Academy and the Academy of German Music Authors. She served numerous times as a jury member of national and international film music awards.

Nach ihrem Abschluss in klassischer Klaviermusik am Konservatorium in Lugano und in klassischer Komposition und Filmmusik am Berklee College of Music in Boston arbeitete sie in Los Angeles im Rahmen eines Mentorenprogramms mit den Komponisten von The Simpsons und Star Trek zusammen. Sie wurde mit mehreren internationalen Preisen ausgezeichnet und ihre Konzertmusik wurde sowohl in den USA als auch in Europa aufgeführt, zuletzt in der Berliner Philharmonie. Die in Berlin lebende Komponistin hat im Laufe von über zwei Jahrzehnten die Musik für über fünfzig Filme geschrieben. Von 2004-07 war sie ausserordentliche Professorin an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Seit 2007 arbeitet sie ausschliesslich als Komponistin. Sie ist ehemaliges Vorstandsmitglied der Deutschen Filmakademie, langjähriges Vorstandsmitglied der Deutschen Filmmusik Union, Mitglied der Europäischen Filmakademie und der Akademie Deutscher Musikautoren. Sie war mehrfach Jurymitglied bei nationalen und internationalen Filmmusikpreisen.
