Comme le saumon, l'écrivaine remonte le cours de sa vie jusqu'à la source, elle se raconte pour nous, dans un jeu de reflets entre ses propos, ses écrits, ses photos et ses amis… Avant tout le monde elle a conduit, fumé, appris l'allemand, aimé librement des hommes volages, réfléchi sur la Suisse et ses démons pendant la Guerre et fait vibrer plusieurs générations de femmes par sa sensibilité, sa rage d'écrire.
