Deux patients font connaissance dans une clinique. Fred, 25 ans, vit une relation difficile alors que sa carrière de hockeyeur est au plus bas. Xiao Xue, 22 ans, danseuse de ballet, se consacre avec enthousiasme au pliage de mille grues en papier, dans l’espoir que son vœu le plus cher se réalise.
