Elise, qui vit dans une maison de retraite, perd peu à peu le contrôle sur sa vie et son environnement: Alzheimer ne lui laisse plus que quelques bribes du passé. La présence de sa fille, le dernier lien lui permettant de rester ancrée dans la réalité, ne suffit bientôt plus et Elise ne peut que plonger profondément dans ses souvenirs.
