Alois Diethelm-Signer de Sattel est le dernier fabricant suisse d'échelles d'arbre. Depuis 1966, il produit des échelles d'arbre pour les cultures fruitières. Autrefois, il fabriquait jusqu'à 300 échelles par an, aujourd'hui il n'en fabrique plus qu'une bonne quarantaine. Malgré la baisse de la demande, il continue à travailler, soutenu par sa femme, pour le plaisir de l'artisanat.
