Après quatorze ans d'absence, Salomé est contrainte de retourner au Cap-Vert pour voir son frère mourant. Lors de son escale à l'aéroport de Lisbonne, Águeda, une femme de ménage, reconnaît Salomé comme étant Mila, son amie d'enfance. Águeda invite Salomé à quitter l'aéroport et à passer l'escale chez elle, avec les femmes de sa famille. Le quartier la transporte dans un voyage spirituel, dont la destination déploie une un lien douloureux avec sa patrie.
Dopo 14 anni di assenza, Salomé è costretta a tornare a Capo Verde per salutare il fratello morente. Dalla Svizzera fa scalo all’aeroporto di Lisbona, dove Águeda, addetta alle pulizie, la riconosce come “Mila”, una vecchia amica d’infanzia. Águeda la invita a lasciare l’aeroporto e a trascorrere le poche ore di scalo a casa sua, con le donne della sua famiglia. Il quartiere capoverdiano trasporta Salomé in un viaggio spirituale, la cui destinazione fa emergere il doloroso legame con la sua terra natale.
